Production Profile

Peace Sign Productions is a four-man production team whose main goal is to provide good and clean fun entertainment to OPM music enthusiasts. It aims to bring a diverse and eclectic lineup of bands every month. Each production night will feature four to six bands including mainstays Suspicious Character, and either Hiraya or Holding Hands. A regular production night normally includes a diverse lineup of performers for the audience to listen to different types of music genres. However, there will also be thematic production nights i.e. 80’s night, Funk, Emo, etc. that will feature bands playing a similar style of music.

Peace Sign Productions’ launch night on October 27, 2005 at Saguijo Bar & Cafe in Makati City will feature the following bands:

- Hiraya
- Suspicious Character
- Bente Diyes
- Day One Movement
- Happy Meals
- Mayonnaise

Peace Sign Productions’ mainstay artists are the following:

1. Hiraya – A band that started in 2001 with an initial lineup of Arlene Buenviaje (vocals), Mark Verzo (guitars), Marco Cuneta (bass), and Paulo Tomas (percussions). Their music has some traces of Leona Naess, Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan and numerous other bands with a female vocalist thus, producing a diverse and eclectic music style. Hiraya’s first single which is also titled “Hiraya” was included in Alpha Records’ Red Horse Muziklaban compilation album in 2002. The band recently released their EP and has a new vocalist in Ala Paredes, a former MYX video jock and currently a commercial model.

2. Holding Hands – Holding Hands is a fusion of seasoned musicians sharing the same influences and lyrical preference. The band falls under the category "Emo" because of the general theme of the lyrics in their original compositions - Emotional. The lyrics, combined with distorted guitars yielding medium to heavy riffs, up tempo drums and melodic bass lines gives Holding Hands their distinct sound that can only be labeled as Alternative, the distinctive combination of lyrical emotion and musical energy. The band is composed of Mario Tagle (vocals), Mark Verzo (guitars), Gino Pulgar (Bass), and Paulo Tomas (percussions).

3. Suspicious Character – The band is composed of Lara Lardizabal (vocals), Clear De Jesus (guitars), JC Ansus (bass), and Rica Yulo (drums). Their musical influences are diverse, with band members coming from metal, grunge, punk, and alternative rock influences. Recipe for making a suspicious character song: catchy guitar riffs, crunching bass, and thunderous drum lines mixed with soothing vocals to create an infectious mix of alternative/indiepop rock.
